A Little About Ruth Carey-Hench

I grew up in a family with three brothers in Carmel, NY, a small town about 100 miles north of New York City. After high school, I attended nursing school and graduated as an L.P.N. I moved to Lancaster in 1973.

My passion for learning and my deep concern for people’s well-being inspired me to become proficient with additional methods of therapy so that I could better treat those in need. With that purpose in mind, I attended Karen Carlson International Academy of Holistic Massage & Science in Chester County, graduating with 960 hours of education and training, I continued to develop my skills and further my knowledge concerning migraine issues, upper back and shoulders, therapeutic touch, and neuromuscular therapy through supplementary lectures and classes. Eventually, I decided to start my own practice, Theraflex Massage, in 2000.

When I’m not caring for my clients, my irresistible urge to nurture often leads me to my flower garden or to spending time with my husband and family.
